Thanks For A Great Season!

What a great season it was, we opened up on December 13 and closed on April 6 for a total of 112 days of great conditions. We received 240 inches of snow this season and it was the ideal snowpack - it didn't blow away like last year. We saw over 165,000 visitors which makes it the 6th best season in our 70 year history.

Thank you to everyone for joining us on the slopes this winter and making it a great season. There were so many smiling faces, that's what makes this area such a great place to ski. Let's look forward to next season and hope it is as good as this season was.

We are now in preparations for the coming summer. Summer operations will start Memorial Day Weekend with the Scenic Skyride and the Peak Side Cafe. I'm sure there will still be some snow on the ground, so as the temperatures heat up, come up, take a ride on the Skyride and cool off.

There is still a lot of snow on the ground so it will take a bit of time to get the disc golf course open. We are hopeful to have the course open by Memorial Day, but we will have to see.

Thanks again for such and incredible season! We look forward to seeing you this summer.

How much longer will we be open?

The answer lies in you, the skiers and snowboarders. We will certainly be open Thursday - Sunday this week, but the number of skier and snowboarders on the slopes will determine if we are able to reopen the following weekend. So spread the word. We have discounted the prices by almost half, hoping more people will be up this week.

We still have great snow and it would be a shame to close with still over 7 feet of snow at mid-mountain. We don't want to close, but if no one is on the slopes, we have no choice. I'm not ready to put the skis away just yet. I know it has been a long season, but don't forget the summer is even longer.

So put off the hike or bike ride for another week or two and enjoy the snow while we have it. With the discounted prices, we are saying Thank You to everyone who has come up this season and enjoyed. Help us out by coming up a few more times. Only 4, possibly 8 days left in the season.

Take Thursday as an example, only $10 for Adults and $5 for Juniors for an all-day lift ticket. Where else can you spend that little amount of money for 6 hours of skiing, note: we did change our hours to 10 am - 4 pm.

What do ya say... a few more days on the slopes, then it's on to our spring/summer fun.

April Hours and Discounted Rates

How the season has flown by. I'm not ready for the season to be done yet, I have a few more months of skiing in my legs. I wish it was able to happen, but it's not. April 13 is our planned closing date. So that doesn't leave that much time to get on the slopes and enjoy the great conditions. The snow is fast in the morning, but softening throughout the day. You can even still find some fresh powder in the trees from last Monday's storm, I did...

This is our last week of regular operation. Starting next week we have new hours, days of operation and way discount rates on tickets and rentals. So here we go...

Monday, March 31 - Wednesday, April 2: Closed
Thursday, April 3 - Sunday, April 6: Open, lifts operate from 10AM - 4PM (note: we are opening an hour later than normal)
Monday, April 7 - Wednesday, April 9: Closed
Thursday, April 11 - Sunday, April 13: Open, lifts operate from 10AM - 4PM

We are planning on April 13 as our last day, but it is up to the skier visits if that changes...

Now for the rates in April, not this week; Thursdays are Local's Appreciation Days with Adult lift tickets at $10 and Juniors for $5. Rental equipment is only $15. If you want to save some money and still enjoy the great snow, Thursdays are the time to come.

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in April we have Adult lift tickets at $25 and Juniors for $25 with $20 rental equipment.

I know it's warm outside and everyone wants to go biking or hiking, but just remember, there is not much time left in the season to get on the snow. Save those activities for a few weeks from now. Come up and enjoy the great snow conditions... we still have almost 8 feet of snow at mid-mountain, and last I checked only 4 resorts in Colorado have more snow than we do.

Spring Skiing

I love this time of year, but also hate it. The temperatures are nice and warm and spring is just around the corner. But I am ready for some more powder days. Most of the snow has melted in the front of my house and I bet the trees will start blooming soon. This season has been so much fun, I don't want it to end.

Thankfully, more snow is in the forecast. As of now, the forecast is looking good for a storm late in the weekend. Let's hope it dumps on us again. We haven't had a good storm in a few weeks.

The snow conditions are holding great. We have such a great snowpack and the attendance has been great. We don't have a closing date set, but we are planning on being open through April 13.

Spring Break has come amongst us and we do have great promotions for those on break. Visit our Snow Report page on our website for a listing of ways to save money.
