Flagstaff's Peaks get a snow dusting

Flagstaff, Arizona gets that winter wonderland look. Yesterday we had a front move in droping several inches of snow. Don't get too excited as it is suppose to warm up this week and the snow will probably not last long.

Flagstaff is sooooo beautiful at a time like this. Check out The Peaks and our city on our 360 degree, real time, controllable cams at FlagstaffWebCam.com. Hey! Take a few photos and mail them to your friends!

Fall Colors Update

The trees are changing at the ski area and some of the leaves are starting to fall to the ground. The color spectrum is from green to gold to some changing to a beautiful orange. We all love this time of year. Each day seems to be a new adventure with the colors. The temperatures are starting to really cool off. We had a good frost last week and I believe this is helping with the colors.

We will certainly be operating the Scenic Skyride this coming weekend, Oct. 9 - 11 and next, Oct. 16 - 18. The ride operates from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We will then look at the colors to see if we will be able to operate for another weekend. It is chilly, so please make sure to dress warm.

Fall Colors

It was a beautiful drive up Snowbowl Road today. For weeks, I've been waiting for the trees to start changing color. I just love this time of the year. Well, the trees have started changing. Each day there will be new colors and better and better places to take photos and watch the leaves shutter in the wind and the fall to the ground.

For the next few weeks, I will post new pictures of the colors on our website. Click on the Fall colors link on the home page.

We still have the Scenic Skyride running Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM. I assume that we will have a few weekends with beautiful fall colors to enjoy. Don't forget to bring a jacket and maybe a hat. It's getting chilly up here.

Looking to Cool Off?

I've started to pay more attention on the temperatures that are reported at the top of each hour and at noon the past few days it has been in the mid 60's at the top of the Skyride. Sounds quite refreshing doesn't it.

Even though it might feel very comfortable, don't forget to bring a jacket... It tends to get a bit colder on the ride down the Skyride.
